Femme- Paintings of Women in 18th Century France

I love 18th century oil portraits- I love the captured details, the extraordinary gowns, the opulence of the decor, the facial expressions...

ART HISTORY TIP: oil paintings are a muted, darker tone of colors (especially antique paintings).  Over time oil paintings will patina and mellow the artwork VS. acrylic paint which is very bright.  Oil paintings have many layers of thin paint applied which gives the art more 'depth.'
